Scooter Jousting III: The Hammer awakens.

We held our third annual scooter jousting event.

Kerrin and Rachael were warming them up. Testing the rides and the equipment.

Oh, That fits well.

There was no need to be hungry. There were all kinds of yummy dishes made by friends and we supplied drinks and Chicken Chili. Sadly, no one remembered to take pics of the food spread. We even had a few awesome cakes. Some of our customers are turning pro (Heather).

                                                                             There were family crests.

And valiant steeds.

As well as some serious contestants. These young guys are getting better every year.

E. trying to get the girls to check him out.

We even had squires to retrieve weapons.

                                                                          Yes, that is a helmet.

This year, more people made their own weapons.
Tell me this wouldn't worry you?

Team Monster Helm even had its own squire (pretty good with a sword already)

This year? We even had an impromptu scooter limbo contest.

The bar got quite a bit lower than that.

                                                                      There were plenty of smiles

The bikes ran all day with some TLC, but they didn't look too pretty in the end. Don't worry; both of these bikes were low quality Chinese scooters destined for the scrap heap when we got our hands on them.

If you didn't make it; you missed a good time. We'll see you at the next one!

Thanks to Heather for some extra pics! Check out the event HERE on Facebook  and another blog A scooter in the wild will have another perspective for you.

AMA Flat track at Williams Grove Speedway.

We decided to meet as a group at the shop and ride out to the AMA National Flat track race. Upon arrival we were happy to see packed stands and a full crowd  at Williams Grove Speedway. The bike show in the parking lot is always good as well. There were quite a few vintage Indians in the lot that were ridden there, and that is always a welcome sight.

The pits were open before and after the race. So you could get up-close and personal with the bikes and riders if you felt the desire to do so.

This Yamaha is simply beautiful! I think we were all in agreement that with the addition of some lights it would be a fantastic street bike.

The Indian, just in case you wanted to see it in racing trim.

The racetrack "blue grooved" pretty quick, but the riders were still putting on a show.

Yes, we even found time to find some cool scooters in the pits for our scooter fans.

When was the last time you saw a  Genuine Black Cat in person?

A big thank you to Tim for the additional Photos.

Counteract balancing beads

Something new in the shop. We have been hearing about Counteract balancing beads for a few years. We have friends using them and they have seen positive results. When I realized the trucking industry has been using them for years we decided to make the investment. These guys spend millions a year on tires, and they use balancing beads. That says it all. We also read up on the SAE tests on these, and they do work!

We have kits in stock to sell if you prefer to install them yourself, AND we offer them as an upgrade when you have us install your tires. We are seeing better tire life and far less uneven wear with these. We have them in our own tires. Lower tire temperatures, and longer tire life is very important on motorcycle and especially small scooter tires.

We have a professional installation tool here at the shop, but this home method works almost as well. If you buy the beads from us, we will install them for free when we change your tires .

Stop by our shop. Increase your tire life, and smooth out your ride. The coffee is always on.
